NCAT’s Research Center and Test Track is one of the world’s leading institutions for asphalt pavement research and an important source of information for those tasked with maintaining our nation’s infrastructure.

NCAT’s main facility is designed for complete testing of asphalt binders and mixtures with state-of-the-art equipment. NCAT also has an outstanding collection of field pavement-testing equipment.

The NCAT Test Track is a research proving ground for asphalt pavements. Highway agencies and industry sponsors fund research on the 1.7-mile oval in 200-foot test sections. This real-world laboratory allows for cutting-edge experimentation while avoiding the risk of failure on actual roadways
