Cold In-Place Asphalt Recycling (CIR) has been gaining popularity in recent years as it is implemented on a broader scale across the US.  The IN-PLACE construction technique mills 2 to 5 inches of bituminous pavement, sizes the RAP to project specifications, and then combines RAP, emulsion, and mineral filler to create a new cold mix that is paver laid.  Eliminating the need to truck materials on/off a project.

The Coughlin Company, ARRA, UAPA, and UDOT have partnered and put together a first of it’s kind CIR symposium for the Utah market.  The virtual event will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 10 am to 3 pm with an hour-long break for lunch from noon to 1 pm.  The content of the symposium will be geared towards those in the road building industry and will include CIR information on project planning, engineering, inspection, costs, environmental benefits, industry trends, additives, and CIR tricks of the trade.  Industry experts will be available to answer any/all CIR questions.
