Utah Leads Together Plan

During the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve all been focused on keeping our employees, our families and ourselves safe. However, this will pass and we will then need to look forward and work towards economic recovery. Governor Herbert and his Economic Response Task Force has put together Utah’s plan. We have emailed the “Utah Leads Together” plan to our members, but we’re posting it here as well. Take a look at page 8 in particular, as it provides work site guidance that will be useful in coming weeks.

Asphalt and Recycling

Weather and heavy use are a fact of life, and because of them, roads have to be repaired regularly. What most people don’t realize, though, is that when road crews remove asphalt during projects to resurface or widen roads, 99% of the asphalt is recycled. Environmental Protection Agency statistics for more than 20 years show that more asphalt is recycled annually than any other U.S. product. More asphalt is recycled than aluminum, glass, paper or plastic.
